January empties

Since last year, I have been trying to transition to a cleaner lifestyle. I cut out meat from my diet and although I do eat seafood, I try to keep it as minimal as possible. I have been trying to do the same with my beauty products. It’s the beginning of a new month, which means it’s time to review some products I have been obsessed with lately – technically this should have been a January 31st post, but you know – life!

Grown Alchemist – Gentle gel facial cleanser

The Grown Alchemist is an Australian based brand that offers products that are organic, vegan, gluten-free and obviously cruelty-free. Not only is this cleanser super gentle but it also works amazing at removing makeup and dirt. The gentle orange scent wakes me right up in the mornings yet it is very soft and easy to smell at night. Highly recommend their body cleanser, age-repair eye cream, and hydra-repair day cream.

Gold Bond Ultimate – radiance renewal oil-infused cream

I received this cream as a complimentary sample from Influenster back in December and I really like it. The scent is great – it has hints of coconut, mango, and shea butter. The cream is fast absorbing and super hydrating – which is a plus during the dry winter months. This brand does not test on animals however I am not sure if they are vegan.

Own Beauty – aluminum-free deodorant

The one I’ve been using is the green tea + cucumber deodorant. It has a very fresh and clean scent to it. This deodorant works amazingly although I do recommend re-application if you’re going to the gym. I am always paranoid when it comes to body odor so no matter how great a deodorant works, I always like to re-apply if I’m going to be working out intensely. It is a bit hard to apply but they recommend you hold the stick to your skin for approximately 10 seconds which helps a ton. It does not leave any nasty residue on your clothes – ie. Those yellow, greasy underarm stains.

Drunk Elephant – Umbra Tinte SPF 30

I love this tinted SPF because it leaves my skin glowing and super moisturized. This is a must during the cold winter months. The formula is weightless and it does not leave skin feeling greasy.

Dear Self, – I am gleaming face moisturizer

I got this moisturizer on one of my Kinder Beauty boxes. The moisturizer is packed with vitamins A, C, and E which protect your skin against sun damage. Although they recommended applying this moisturizer both morning and night, I use it only at night after applying Blume Meltdown and I love how I wake up with glowing skin.

Ouai – Leave-in Conditioner

This smells divine and the scent stays in the hair for a day or so. It is I have been using this for about a year and I cannot get enough of it. I love how it leaves my hair super soft and of course, smelling like roses.

Ritual – Essential for Women

These vitamins are great because not only are they completely vegan but you can also take them on an empty stomach thanks to their non-nausea causing capsule. The vitamins are packed with 9 essential nutrients which include vegan Omega-3’s, Vitamin E, B-12, iron and more. Another great thing is that they leave your mouth feeling fresh and minty. This is a subscription service so the vitamins are delivered to your door monthly. It’s great as it is one less thing to think about buying.
