Beach day essentials

Whenever I head down the shore, or anywhere that involves being by the water and soaking up the sun, I always carry with me these 10 essentials:

Sunscreen

You cannot, for the sake of your skin spend an entire day in the sun without wearing SPF. Every morning after washing, toning and applying any serums, I always put on my sunscreen. And of course, whenever I head to the beach, I cannot go without my sunscreen. Sunscreen is essential for you as it shields your skin from harmful UV rays, it prevents premature aging and of course, it lowers your risk of skin cancer. My favorite ones are Coola and Drunk Elephant “Umbra Tinte”.

Reusable Water Bottle

I love carrying around my reusable water bottle because not only does it keep my drinks super cold but it is also environmentally friendly – yes, I am the type of person to carry around a reusable metal straw inside my bag, because of TURTLES! Before heading out to the beach, I fill up my water with ice cubes and water with a splash of lemon. It is super refreshing!

Beach Towel

You obviously can’t go to the beach without bringing a towel with you. My favorite is a quick-dry microfiber towel. I got mine from amazon and I am obsessed with it. I love how compact it is and how quick it dries.

Portable Speaker or Headphones

I love listening to music so I can’t leave my house without my portable speaker or wireless headphones.

Portable Charger

It sucks being stuck with a low battery or a dead phone. This is why I always try to make it a priority to bring a charger with me.

Sunglasses

Just like sunscreen, glasses to me are also essential for when I’m out in the sun. I love my Ray-Bans they’re so chick and have lasted with me for a while. I can’t count how many times I’ve dropped my glasses and they’re still intact.

Wet Swim Pouch

Book

I’m a sucker for books! So it is only right that a book is a must bring. I’m currently reading “I’ll be Gone in the Dark” by Michelle McNamara. It’s a true crime book about the Golden State Killer.

Beach Tote

You need to have a favorite bag to carry all your essentials in! I love the beach tote that I got this year from Marshalls. It is insulated inside which is amazing for the super hot days. It keeps my phone and all the other tech inside cool. If you find one that’s insulated, I definitely recommend you buy it – it’s so worth it.

Beach blanket

I don’t like bringing chairs to the beach, so I always bring a blanket to lay down on. I got my blanket from a picnic event I went to a few years ago. I keep it in the trunk of my car so I have it with me at all times.
