A few months ago my boyfriend and I took a short trip to Miami, FL to get away from the cold weather of NJ. If you ever find yourself in the area or plan on visiting, below are a few recommendations
WHERE TO STAY:
When we visited, we stayed at The Royal Palm which is located on Collins Avenue. The hotel is so beautiful and the staff make you feel right at home. The hotel has 2 restaurants, an outdoor pool with a bar and beach access. They also have a cute little coffee shop and bar right on the hotel lobby where you can grab a quick breakfast sandwich before you start your day or a cocktail before you head out for the night. The location of the hotel is great, as you are only a few steps away from the beach and about a 10 minute walk to the Lincoln Road Mall.
WHAT TO DO:
We came here for the outdoor garden’s and James Deering’s beautiful home. If you visit, make sure you check out the grotto swimming pool.
Calle Ocho
Calle Ocho is a must while you’re in Miami. This hidden gem is located in Little Havana. While we were here, we checked out Maximo Gomez Park aka Domino Park. Locals’ gather around here to play dominoes. We also strolled up and down Calle 8, which is filled with some of the best Cuban coffee, beautiful art and cigar shops. We grabbed a quick bite at El Pub Restaurant and finished off the night with a quick drink at Ball & Chain.
Wynwood
This is the place to be for those of us that love art. This neighborhood is full of some of the most beautiful and colorful murals and art galleries. Be sure to take lots of pictures and check out the Wynwood Walls Garden.
WHERE TO EAT:
I highly recommend this place since it is full of healthy foods and natural juices. Try their “Avocado Bliss Juice” or “Orange Zinger Juice” and any of their avocado toasts. It won’t disappoint!
My boyfriend and I could not get enough of the “Big Havana Breakfast”. The food was so delicious, fresh and quick.
If you love tacos and tequila then be sure to check out Bodega. When here, I recommend the “Bodega Guacomole”, “Impossible Carne Asada” as well as the “Pescado” tacos. Pair it off with a margarita and you’re all set.
Xo,
Ingrith ♥
